That magic Number

I finally turned 16. It was a weird moment when I realized it happened. I was standing in my best friends kitchen, eating red velvet cupcakes when I took a glance at the clock. "Hey," I said. "It's 12:00, I am 16!" When Ashley and I both really realized what that meant, we knew we had to celebrate. What better way of ceramonializing this occasion than running out into the cold winter night, bare foot and in pajamas. We ran around in circles, massacuring are feet in the snow, screaming,
"BECCA'S SIXTEEN!!"

It was a nastalgic (thanks heather for the use of your vocabulary) moment as I thought about when I was younger and how sixteen felt so far away and impossible too reach.

But here I am, I reached it and to further celebrate my friends and I went sledding in my snow that I prayed for.

Singing a song is fun to do

I was super lucky and was chosen to be in Timponogos Talent show. No, I did not juggle chains saws. (I wish) I sang one of my favorite songs, the only exception. Long story short it is a GOOD song, and almost autobiographical.

After the talent show I was talking to these kids, and they asked if I wanted to sing for their band!! Seeing as I am fifteen I had to say no, for now. But Guess What! If father approves of all the boys, Becca is going to be in a legitimate, high school band! What a dream!

p.s. speaking of almost being sixteen, Satan knows and it is torture. I cannot count how many times I have to say "no" to my friends.

Foam board accessories and hymn #92

PART 1:
Cheap accessories holder=70 cent foam board, exacto knife, and Scrapbook paper!!
(for the necklace holder I pulled apart an old coat hanger and punched it through the board)

It looks so much better than a messy plastic box

PART 2:

I love the fall! The warm colors balance out the chilly air, and my dad's flower's are in full bloom!

CORNSTALKS!! They may be annoying but boy are the fun to make and look at.

I think our tree is probably the best beautiful leaf producer in the whole neighborhood.
(can we just say these pictures turned out pretty good, especially coming from my hand-me-down camera?!)
We get loads of leaves, enough to cover every kid on our street.

(see below for new Halloween post!)

Halloween

I Finally watched "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!" I cannot believe that this movie has not been part of past Halloween traditions!
Here are some great quotes. Enjoy.

(Lucy scoops out the innards of the pumpkin Linus brought)
Linus: (groans) You didn't tell me you were gonna kill it!

Linus: (to Sally as she walks away with everyone else) Hey, aren't you going to stay to greet the Great Pumpkin? Huh? It won't be long now. If the Great Pumpkin comes, I'll still put in a good word for you! [realizes what he just said] Good grief! I said "if"! I meant, "when" he comes! I'm doomed. One little slip like that could cause the Great Pumpkin to pass you by. Oh, Great Pumpkin, where are you?

Charlie Brown: I got a rock.

Charlie Brown: Hey! I got an invitation to a Halloween party!
Lucy: Is the invitation to Violet's party, Charlie Brown?
Charlie Brown: Yes. It's the first time I've been invited to a party.
Lucy: Charlie Brown, if you got an invitation, it was a mistake. There were two lists, one to invite, and one not to invite. You must have been put on the wrong list.
Linus: Each year, the Great Pumpkin rises out of the pumpkin patch that he thinks is the most sincere. He's gotta pick this one. He's got to. I don't see how a pumpkin patch can be more sincere than this one. You can look around and there's not a sign of hypocrisy. Nothing but sincerity as far as the eye can see.

Linus: He'll come here because I have the most sincere pumpkin patch and he respects sincerity.
Sally: Do you really think he will come?
Linus: Tonight the Great Pumpkin will rise out of the pumpkin patch. He flies through the air and brings toys to all the children of the world.
Sally: That's a good story.
Linus: You don't believe the story of the Great Pumpkin? I thought little girls always believed everything that was told to them. I thought little girls were innocent and trusting.
Sally: Welcome to the 20th century!

Sally: Do I get to go trick-or-treating this year, big brother?
Charlie Brown: Sure, Sally.
Sally: Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! How do we do it?
Lucy: All you have to do is walk up to a house, ring the doorbell and say "Tricks or treats."
Sally: Are you sure it's legal?
Lucy: Of course it's legal.
Sally: I wouldn't want to be accused of taking part in a rumble.
Linus:Have you come to sing pumpkin carols?

Pigpen: (wearing a ghost costume, trailing dust) They'll never guess it's me under here.
Frieda: Hello, Pigpen. Glad you could make it.
Pigpen: How did you know it was me?

Linus: Never jump into a pile of leaves with a wet sucker.

Charlie Brown: Well, another Halloween has come and gone.
Linus: Yes, Charlie Brown.
Charlie Brown: I don't understand it. I went trick-or-treating and all I got was a bag full of rocks. I suppose you spent all night in the pumpkin patch. (Linus nods)
Charlie Brown: And the Great Pumpkin never showed up?
Linus: Nope.
Charlie Brown: Well, don't take it too hard, Linus. I've done a lot of stupid things in my life, too. Linus: STUPID? What do you mean "stupid"? Just wait 'til next year, Charlie Brown. You'll see! Next year at this same time, I'll find the pumpkin patch that is real sincere and I'll sit in that pumpkin patch until the Great Pumpkin appears. He'll rise out of that pumpkin patch and he'll fly through the air with his bag of toys. The Great Pumpkin will appear and I'll be waiting for him! I'll be there! I'll be sitting there in that pumpkin patch and I'll see the Great Pumpkin. Just wait and see, Charlie Brown. I'll see the Great Pumpkin. I'll SEE the Great Pumpkin! Just you wait, Charlie Brown. The Great Pumpkin will appear and I'll be waiting for him...

So I was inspired and carved this...

It says, "be good for the great pumpkin"

This is it glowing proudly on Halloween night

it was bound to happen

HOORAY!! I made it onto Orem Youth Council. Last week at the city council meeting I was officially sworn in. What a night that was. I shook hands with MAYOR WASHBURN, and all the city council members! When I sat back down in my seat in the audience the person next to me turned and said.

"I am from the daily herald and am doing a story on OYC, can I ask you a few questions?"
Yes, I was interviewed by the daily herald. Ha ha, I don't think it will be in the paper though.

Oh i Just can't wait to Die

Teresa and I are heading off to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple
this morning to do baptisms. I also went last Wednesday with
the girls in my ward. I have found that when I go to the
temple as soon as I leave it's doors I am Planning my next trip.
It is just so addicting. And now I know why.

There are many reasons, like the sweet little ladies
dressed in white, the beauty of the temple, or maybe
it's the feeling you get when you realize you are helping
your spirit brothers and sisters. But for me it's what the
temple reminds me of. My heavenly home.

Every one there is dressed in pure white. They are all
glowing and smiling. You feel so close to heavenly
father it's hard to breath. I can feel his celestial glory
everywhere. AND IT IS SO PEACEFUL!
Going to the temple helps me see why
making it to the celestial kingdom really is so important.
Because I am going to LOVE it there.

This week's young women's lesson was on the temple.
It's the lesson I look forward to every year. The teacher
asked us to close are eyes, picture a place glorious and
beautiful. Then Picture all your family standing there,
and all the prophet's from Adam to Thomas S. Monson.
Then picture Your loving Heavenly Father and the Savior,
Jesus Christ smiling at you.
(I suggest you try this exercises, good feelings are guaranteed.)

Can we Just say WOW! Why would I want be anywhere
else than there. I WOULDN'T!!

If You're on the Road I would get off

CUZ HERE I COME!!

Actually I am not out there yet but, I finally
disciplined myself to sit down with a highlighter,
pencil, and a stack of papers to take notes.
However, After about a half an hour

of pure teenage brain torture, I could no longer
handle memorizing useless information. (like
the legal definition of a FARM TRACTOR!!)* So
I am calling out to all of you license holders.
How did YOU learn all these facts? Please give
me some ideas, or else I'll be burnt toast when
it comes to taking the permit test.

*Farm Tractor- every self propelled vehicle
designed and used primarily as a farm implement
of husbandry (whatever that means!)

My Designer Jeans

My old jeans. They were too short
and too boring So....
they got bedazzled!

Cuffs were added,

They were embroidered with white thread,

And glitter was scattered across the pockets.
After their immense transformation they were
accepted back home with open arms.

Can I just say that this was so easy!! You can
turn a bad pair of mom jeans into $60 designer
jeans for a total of $2.79. I just bought white
embroidery floss and glitter at Michael's craft
store.... and SHAZAMM!!
